This report is Confirmed false
and is of
Medium Priority.
Here is why -
An external fact checker has confirmed that this is false. Prof. Neelika Malavige is attached to the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. This false post had claimed that she has received a new laboratory from Akbar Brothers because she spoke in support of burial of COVID-19 victims. However, in fact, she had refused to make a comment on that. Responding to the external fact checker, Prof. Malavige had stated that the University of Sri Jayawardenapura has been discussing with a few companies, including Akbar Brothers, about the possibility of getting a laboratory to expand their PCR testing capacity. None of the companies had given a definite promise to that effect at the time of inquiry, and if one actually donates a lab like that, it will be donated to the University, not Prof. Malavige. Akbar Brothers has also refused the claim that they have received a project proposal from Prof. Malavige.
