This report is Impossible to verify but probably true and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
A letter dated 09.12.2009 which is circulating online states that his service has been suspended. Another letter dated 18.12.2009 stipulates 11 charges, including contesting at an election without necessary permission, going abroad without necessary permission, and getting undue salaries, among others. A letter dated 09.11.2010 states that as per the disciplinary inquiry, he had been deemed guilty of all charges and therefore, he has been dismissed from service effective from 09.12.2009, the date of suspension. However, the authenticity of these letters are not verified and the letter with charges (dated 18.12.2009) appears unsigned. Moreover, a public servant always has the option of appealing to the Public Service Commission against their dismissal and there is no evidence as to whether Mahinda Jayasinghe has exhausted all those options. See said letters (Sinhala) under "Evidence".
