Here is why -
An Extraordinary Gazette Notification had been issued on 3rd November 2021, removing the price control imposed on 17 essential commodities including sugar, dhal, chicken, potato, canned fish, wheat flour, green gram, big onions, chickpeas, dried fish, coconut, maize, and milk powder. It was done through revoking seven Gazette Notifications previously published under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act imposing price controls on several food items.
