Even though the arrested person had published posts criticizing the President, the reason for his arrest had been a post that would jeopardize the inter-communal peace, especially the defamatory comments made in reference to Buddhist monks. The arrest had been made under the ICCPR Act. Police Media Spokesperson Ajith Rohana had also confirmed this.
