This report is Confirmed true
and is of
Medium Priority.
Here is why -
Authorities have increased security at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) near Colombo as of Sept. 16 after receiving an emailed warning. The message threatened an unspecified attack against CMB Sept. 20 unless authorities release four detained individuals. The identity of the individual or group responsible for the threat is unclear.
Officials have deployed additional security personnel in and around CMB as a precaution; consequent delays are possible. Increased security measures are also likely near other transport hubs such as Ratmalana Airport (RML) and Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (HRI). Authorities could also deploy additional personnel near religious sites and major tourist facilities. Roadblocks are possible. Security measures may prompt localized transport and commercial disruptions near sensitive sites.
