His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith had stated in December 2020 that there is no political will to find the perpetrators behind the Easter Sunday Attack, on the part of both the then government and the current government. He had also mentioned that members of both governments did not take any action to prevent the Attack. However, he had not explicitly mentioned that some of the people who are responsible for the Easter Sunday Attack are part of the current government. His media secretary too had refused the claim.
