An independent fact checker has confirmed that this is false. The Minister of Youth and Sports and the Director of Compliance at the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka had both denied this and the users have not reported any interruption. Sri Lankan context: Recently a young woman who plays PUBG MOBILE and live streams it gained popularity in Sri Lanka, and she faces ongoing gendered hate speech. It was also recently reported that a child who had gotten addicted to online gaming had committed suicide when his mother confiscated the mobile phone.
