This report is Confirmed false and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
An external fact checker has confirmed that this is false. This false claim had tried to present as if the army is replanting the area where Bathiudeen was ordered to plant trees by the court. However, as per the fact check, the tree planting initiative by the army has happened in the Seenathnagar area in the Wilpattu Reserve, as a continuation of a project that started in 2019. Bathiudeen was ordered to replant the Kallaru Reserve area using his own money by the court in November 2020. Sri Lankan context: #SaveWilpattu, a campaign against deforestation acted as an anti-Muslim slogan as well, due to the involvement of Rishad Bathiudeen.
