Here is why -
Mr Mangala Samaraweera was receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital as he had contracted Covid-19 on August 13. The news circulating on social media stating that Mr Mangala Samaraweera has passed away is on the 18th of August which was a false news. 24th of August it was confirmed that he has passed away from COVID-19, his family confirmed a short while ago to the press and general public.
