Cabinet Sub-Committee appointed to look into the elimination of salary anomalies in teacher-principal services has recommended that a special allowance of LKR 5000 be granted for teachers and principals who are on duty during the months of September and October 2021, as an interim solution: http://www.colombopage.com/archive_21B/Aug31_1630417506CH.php.
Joseph Stalin, the General Secretary of Sri Lanka Teachers’ Union has stated "...we do not accept the 5,000 rupee allowance. We want our salary anomalies to be fixed as a part of the previous Subodhini committee report. We don’t accept these increments or allowances otherwise.
