Mohammed Ibrahim is the father of two of the Easter Sunday suicide bombers. He had once been a JVP National List nominee. A few social media posts claimed that member of JVP Lal Kantha has mentioned that Mohammed Ibrahim was included in the party National List based on the sole decision of its leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and he did not listen to the opposing views expressed by other members of the party as he was mainly focusing on the donations to the party given by Mohammed Ibrahim. An external fact checker has found out that the images are doctored and the media unit of the JVP has also refused that Lal Kantha mentioned something like this.
