This report is Impossible to verify
and is of
High Priority.
Here is why -
On October 1, 2021, a news item titled “93 Pandora billionaires in Sri Lanka” was published in the Divaina newspaper. The news under the title was “The foreign assets and black money of 93 Sri Lankans have been invested in banks and foreign companies in 48 countries, according to Pandora documents revealed by the investigative media network.”
During inspection, it was discovered that the I.C.I.J organization has published data on countries individually on their official website in relation to previous exploratory revelations. It includes the names of 93 Sri Lankans, 22 names revealed by Panama Papers, 43 names revealed by Offshore Leaks, 18 names revealed by Paradise Papers – Appleby, and 10 names revealed by Paradise Papers – Malta Corporate registry.
The only Sri Lankans revealed so far in the recent Pandora Papers are Nirupama Rajapaksa, a former deputy minister in Sri Lanka, and her husband, Thirukumar Nadesan who is a businessman.
Therefore, the news stating that 93 Sri Lankans have been revealed with the list of names as was in the recent Pandora Papers is misleading but impossible to verify.
