This report is Probably true and is of Low Priority. Here is why -
Co-cabinet Spokesperson, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella stated on June 01 that an expert committee has approved administering only the first dose of the Sputnik vaccine, called "Sputnik Light". Sri Lanka’s Epidemiology Unit published new guidelines for the Sputnik V vaccine on May 29, which said that there is a possibility of not receiving Component II due to the evolving global situation of vaccine manufacturing and supply, and recipients are to be informed if and when Component II arrives. Guideline says “[Health staff administering the vaccine] are advised not to indicate a date for a second dose and keep registration notes and contact details at each vaccination center securely to inform the clients to visit for a second dose.” Read more here: https://economynext.com/sputnik-light-sri-lanka-may-rely-on-single-shot-russian-covid-19-vaccine-82606/.
